　　Although more and morepeople read news on the Internet, newspapers will remain the most importantsource of news. Do you agree or disagree?

　　虽然越来越多人在网上看新闻，报纸依然是最重要的新闻渠道。同意或反对？

　　思路：

　　这种题目，见到the most important这类武断表述，都选择反对，因为themost, the best这类观点，无法证明。在论证时建议使用双边论证，提前写一个让步段，承认报纸有其重要性，再进行反驳。这样不仅是扣题，而且论证严密思路

　　Although newspapers have long beencrowned as a dominant source of information for the general public, I tend todisagree with the assertion that they still hold the reins of media in the ageof Internet.

　　Admittedly, there are somejustifications for newspapers, though they limit to some certain aspects. Firstly,to senior citizens who have difficult in dealing with electronic gadgets likecomputers or smart phones, it is the papers that keep them informed of what ishappening in the outside world, allowing the older generation to keep abreastup with the ever-changing world. Also, we should not forget the exclusive valueof newspaper clips as an important physical document of historical moments, a characterwhich is by no means to be replaced by their electronic counterparts.

　　However, plausible though thesefeatures are, I have to say that this traditional media form is no longer themost important news source while considering their disadvantages with online mediatoday. The first primary factor worthwhile to mention is efficiency. The worldis moving in a direction where most events or breaking news are disseminatedalmost immediately after they happen via the ubiquitous Internet, meaning that manypeople cannot afford to wait for the next day newspapers. This is particularlyimportant for politicians and businessmen, who rely on the up-to-minute news tomake decisions which may influence the future of a nation or stock market.

　　Another disadvantage lays emphasison the cost of reading a newspaper. While there were no other freealternatives, people had no choice but to pay for the coverages printed onpaper. Today, when being exposed to various accesses to free news, e.g.Facebook, Instagram, people are less likely to open their wallet to subscribeto the newspapers.

　　Given the comparison above, I do notthink it tenable to claim that newspaper is the most important media in today’sworld.
