二、慈善类话题

   慈善类话题在今年出现了两次，一次是在3月21日，讲的是名人对慈善组织的支持会不会引发人们的关注和行动，不算完全的慈善类话题；而6月6日的大作文，讨论是给当地社区捐助好还是捐款给国家或国际慈善组织好，完全属于charity话题。而关于国际援助的最近的一次考试出现在2013年10月10日，提问角度略有不同，本质是一样的。

  首先我们要弄明白charitable organization的定义是什么，以下是wikipedia的定义：

A charitable organization is a type of non-profit organization (NPO). It differs from other types of NPOs in that it centers on non-profit and philanthropic goals as well as social well-being.

   这里的几个关键词很重要，non-profit（非营利性）、philanthropicgoals（慈善目标）以及social well-being（社会福祉）。

   通过这几个词的内容，我们就可以很容易地列出这个题目的大纲：

   赞成捐款给charitable organization的理由：

   1.帮助到最需要帮助的人（people in the greatestneed）。如果只帮助本社区的话，那非洲的穷人（skinny African babies）、处于战乱的人（those afflictedinabattlefield）或中国南方的失孤（suffering orphansin Southern China）怎么办？就成悲剧了。

   2.覆盖面更广、更及时（have awidercoverageandtimelyresponse），尤其当发生战争、自然灾害等紧急情况（emergency）时，    本社区人需要外界援助（aid fromtheoutsideworld）。
