　　While it is inevitable that the shade of parents will follow the whole life of their offspring, I tend to agree with the opinion that since children step into school, it is teachers who play a more influential role in the cultivation of intelligence and social skills of children.

　　Admittedly, parents, as the first educator in children’s early age, do play their part in the enlightenment of literacy and communication ability for kids. Had it not been for the family education, many children would have not forged the basic perception of language or number. It is also with the guidance of parents that young have learned how to talk with others in a polite and respectful manner. Both qualifications areconducive to the further school and working careers of the younger generation.

　　Significant though the home education is, the influence of parents in education is eclipsed by that of professional educators as children grow. One primary reason contributing to the change isthe exclusive proficiency in academic knowledge of teachers, who seems to be eligibleto answer all questions of students, making it easy to win those young mindsfull of curiosity.

　　So is the case with social ability. School provides a more complicated context for students to learn how to communicate with people with various backgrounds. Without parents being around, the first person students will turn to when exposed in tricky situation is their teachers, whose advices turn out to exert more profound effectson students’ style of communication.

　　In conclusion, although the impacts of parenting cannot be absolutely ignored, it seems to me that it is teachers who have a more important role in the development of intellectualand interpersonal qualities for the next generation.
